WASHINGTON, DC, August 19, 2022 — Visit Adams Morgan this Sunday, August 21, from Noon to 10pm for an open street, free entertainment for all ages, an abundance of local businesses, and no cars at the Adams Morgan Pedestrian Zone. As recently announced by Mayor Muriel Bowser, 18th Street NW between Kalorama and Columbia Roads NW will be closed to vehicular traffic on select Sundays for the remainder of the year (August 21, September 4, and October 23,, 2022 – more dates to come). Pedestrians, pets, people on scooters, cartwheelers, stilt-walkers, runners, and bicyclists are all welcome to spread out and move safely and freely through the street.

The Adams Morgan Pedestrian Zone is brought to you by the Adams Morgan Partnership BID. The Adams Morgan Partnership BID has worked tirelessly over the last two years to continue the pedestrian zone that Mayor Muriel Bowser first piloted in June 2020. We hope to continue the closures throughout the remainder of 2022 and beyond. This initiative is generously sponsored by Aetna, a health care company that is working to build a healthier world and is contributing to all of the fun, healthy ways to move throughout the pedestrian zone. Aetna is committed to providing individuals, employers, health care professionals and producers with innovative benefits, products and services. The Adams Morgan Pedestrian Zone was made possible by the Streets for the People grant program under the DC Office of Planning
